Okay, that’s an acceptable proof of concept.

The “Diver” medium fighter is a cheap, mass-produced model usually seen piloted by orbital police, cash-strapped planetary defense forces, and certain less respectable groups (read: pirates.) The fighter is manufactured almost entirely from off-the-shelf parts, including oversized engines designed for much heavier freighters. These engines give the Diver impressive acceleration power and chase ability and it is well-armored for its size, but its maneuverability and shield power is weak and its weaponry is outclassed by most other fighter-class ships. It is also worth pointing out that the oversized engines actually block pilot visibility to either side, and the ship itself can only be launched from zero-gravity environments without heavy modification. The Diver is best used against larger, slower, less heavily armed vessels.
